Control system
Replacement of relay / older microprocessor controllers with modern systems. Improved leveling accuracy, regenerative drive support, group control, smartphone diagnostics, GSM alarm integration.
PROENSO modernizes elevators in existing buildings by replacing only the components that limit safety, compliance or user experience — typically the control system, drive, doors and cabin — while keeping the original shaft structure intact. The result: lower disruption to occupants, faster installation than full replacement, and full Polish UDT compliance with current PN-EN 81 standards.
The first question PROENSO answers before quoting a modernization is whether modernization is the right move at all. Several scenarios point clearly one way or the other:
Replacement of relay / older microprocessor controllers with modern systems. Improved leveling accuracy, regenerative drive support, group control, smartphone diagnostics, GSM alarm integration.
Replacement of two-speed or older VVVF drives with permanent-magnet gearless machines. Lower energy consumption, smoother ride, no machine-room required for some configurations (MRL retrofit).
Replacement of swing / manual doors with automatic sliding doors. Light curtains, infrared sensors, fire-rated doors where required. Compliance with EN 81-58 (fire rating) and accessibility standards.
Cabin shell replacement or refurbishment, new car operating panel, LED lighting, mirrors, handrails, floor materials. Aesthetic refresh while structural cabin frame stays.
Speed governors, safety gears, buffers — replacement to current EN 81-20/50 levels. Ascending car overspeed protection (UCMP) where missing. Door zone protection upgrades.
GSM alarm system (mandatory under EN 81-28), two-way emergency communication, video monitoring optional. SIM provisioning, monitoring centre integration.
A significant portion of elevators in Polish prefabricated apartment blocks from the 1960s–1980s were manufactured by Warszawska Fabryka Dźwigów Translift and ZREMB. ODA, MDA and similar models. Many are still operational decades later — testimony to robust Polish engineering — but most need modernization to meet current PN-EN 81 standards.
Part of the PROENSO team comes from Translift directly. We know these constructions inside out — typical degradation patterns, available retrofit paths, which components must be replaced for UDT acceptance, which can stay. This is rare expertise in the modern Polish elevator market.
Every modernization that changes safety systems, drive or control requires UDT acceptance before the elevator can return to service. PROENSO prepares the complete documentation package, coordinates the regional UDT inspection, and supports the inspector visit. Documentation includes: technical drawings of modernized components, manufacturer declarations, EN 81 compliance evidence, updated equipment book.
Typical modernization timeline depends on scope:
Compare: full replacement in an existing shaft typically takes 8–14 weeks of out-of-service time.
Send basic information: elevator manufacturer (if known), year of installation, building type, current issues. PROENSO will return a technical assessment and modernization vs replacement recommendation within 3–5 business days. For older Polish-made units (Translift, ZREMB) we visit the site for in-person survey.
